Living Books Education
Here at Wattle Gum Homeschool we are passionate about living books to assist in building lifelong learners. Living books that touch the emotions and fire the imagination. We have selected literature that reflects Charlotte Mason’s belief in the power of living books to cultivate a child’s curiosity, knowledge, and connection to the world.
Reading, comprehension and visualisation are important skills to develop in our students. Broad knowledge, understanding context and history are powerful foundations for interacting in today’s world. Inspirational people and events motivate and inspire our young people to forge ahead on their own paths. Wattle Gum Homeschool grants you complete access to our resource library. It’s an extensive collection that includes:

Australian Homeschool Curriculum
Wattle Gum Curriculum is:
- Based on 30 years of experience homeschooling our 10 children
- Immersion in a curriculum steeped in rich literature and living books
- Includes booklists, resources, activity suggestions & a routine guide
- Australian, based on the National and State Curriculums
- Secular based, though easily adapted as desired.
- A complete ‘ready to go’ curriculum.
- Covering Foundation to Year 6.

You gain complete access for a year to a huge collection of Resources: Focused Booklists, Supplementary Booklists for Our Sunburnt Country, Literature-Based Units, Literature-Based Workshops and Worldwide Pages at the Book Database.
At this stage, all the resources are Australian-based. We have plans to expand to worldwide resources as well.
Wattle Gum Books is a searchable book list database of over 2000 Books. The Australian content is Free, and the worldwide books are part of Wattle Gum Homeschool. The books, collated and organised, can be added to your Resources as you build your booklists
Our Australian Literature-Based Curriculum is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the State Curricula.
We currently offer Prep through to Year 6. We have plans to continue rolling out the High School Grades.

We don’t generally, as our prices have already been set at such an affordable price. We are aware that most homeschool families are single income. However, we do review hardship cases, so if price is holding you back, reach out to us, and we can offer assistance.
